Physiological Traits of Thirty-Five Tomato Accessions in Response to Low Temperature

Tomato is often exposed to diverse abiotic stresses and cold stress one of harsh environmental stresses. Abnormal low temperature affects tomato growth development, leading to, e.g., physiological disorders, flower drops, abnormal fruit morphology, causing a decrease in yield quality. It important identify temperature-(LT) tolerant (Solanum lycopersicum L.) cultivars relying on different types. In this study, our focus was analyze the traits 35 accessions with three types (cherry, medium, large sizes) under night set-points 15 °C for control (CT) 10 LT, respectively. Plant heights (PH) most LT were remarkably decreased compared those CT. The leaf length (LL) width (LW) reduced depending genotypes LT. addition, number fruits (NFR), set (FS), (FY), marketable (MY) negatively affected variation further investigated by correlation, principal component (PCA), cluster analysis. Interestingly, positive correlations between vegetative reproductive uncovered. Multivariate analysis including PCA hierarchical clustering classified LT-treated into four major groups. identified associated parameters directions. results might be utilized establishing breeding programs selecting LT-tolerant selection indices during and/or stages.
